Khao Sok

Leaving Koh Samui at 09:45am to Surat Thani was followed by an hour bus ride and a two and a half hour coach journey to Khao Sok national park. Making a huge error and sitting in the back row unaware that the engine was underneath. The heat was unreal. We arrived at Morning mist resort paying 650thb a night for a twin room. On the first evening we did a night safari 600thb for 2.5 hours. We saw a few spiders, snakes, monkeys, scorpions and birds. Sadly the guides English was limited to “spider” “bird” when it came to species.
The next day we took a day tour to ratchaprapha dam, spending an hour on a long tail boat then eating lunch in a floating restaurant before trekking the jungle for an hour. The tour cost 1500thb and the transfer was an hour.
The next day we decided to check out and make our way to Phuket a day early. I was shocked when the hotel refunded the room rate for the night. We went to catch the local bus and it had passed 10 minutes ahead of its schedule. However the bus from the hotel was going to Khao Lak so we decided to stay on then make a decision.
