Lisbon, Portugal

I’m a bit behind with posting this! Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. I visited back in October for 3 days. I had visited Lisbon 5 years ago briefly and I had already fallen in love with the city.
This time around I stayed at draft hostel which cost around 9€ a night. It is the perfect location literally a few minutes walk from metro stations and the praça do Comércio.
The dorm room had super comfortable beds. Only down side was noise from the street but I still slept well. On the first morning I was up in time to catch the sunrise.

Then I took a taxi to the Belem tower. A really unique building which I didn’t get time to see on my last trip.

I then took a slow walk back to the city passing the bridge. The weather was perfect.

On both evenings I actually ate at an Indian restaurant called Swaagat. I never normally return to the same place twice on a trip but the food and service was perfect so I couldn’t resist.

The next day was jam packed! I took the first train in the morning to Sintra and whizzed around 4 of the palaces/ castles.

From the train station I took a taxi costing 10€ for a 20 minute ride. I had no idea how long the bus was going to take to arrive as there were very few people around and I knew my day was busy already as I really wanted to return to Casçais later in the day.
Sintra could indeed be a holiday in its self. It was really incredible.

The palaces cost between 8-10 euros to get in. I can only imagine how busy they would get in a normal year.

In the afternoon I got a taxi down to Cascais. I scuba dived from here around 5 years ago and really loved it so I wanted to return. It’s a cute little seaside town with a really great vibe.

After I took the train back to Lisbon just in time to catch the sunset. I shot this photo which became my first photo on Instagram to hit 1000 likes.

Lisbon is an amazing place to visit I love that it has the sea on its door step. It’s very affordable and the transport around it is very easy to use and again pretty cheap.
I will actually return in just under 2 wks just for an afternoon before taking my flight to my next destination. Brazil! If anyone has any tips or advice pop them in the comments below.
