Bucharest, what do you need to know?
Firstly currency is the Romanian lei which currently works out around 5lei (1€) I used my bank card everywhere with no problems.
You will arrive into Henri Coandă International Airport ✈️ it’s located 17km north-west of Bucharest, Previously known as Bucharest Otopeni International Airport (OTP) it still uses this code.
To the city you have 2 options, the local bus which costs 3lei (less than 1€) and leaves every 40 minutes.
Or a taxi (download Bolt) which takes 20 minutes and costs 15€.
A taxi in downtown will cost you around 16lei (3€) for a 10 minute ride.
3 great options to see the city and learn alot about the cities past:
A 2 hour walking tour (15€)
A 1 hour tuktuk tour (37€pp)
A half day bicycle tour (35€pp)

Food you need to eat!
Sarmale (mince meat wrapped in cabbage) 塞 served with polenta. I had it at Restaurant Hanu’ lui Manuc Inn. It cost 28.5lei (5.80€) the building is from 1808.
Papanași Romanian cheese donuts, I had them served with cherries at City Grill Covaci which cost me 3.65€.
Caru’ cu bere first opened as a brewery in 1879 , the interior is stunning and the food is great. I had a dinner here and I went for breakfast which cost 25lei (5€) and came with a coffee of your choice.
